Player of the Year Past Honorees

Below is a list of past winners of the Maine Golf Player of the Year award. While Maine Golf dates back to 1917, the Player of the Year award wasn’t first given out until 1996, when a year-long points system was introduced to honor one player every season. The men’s award is named for Dr. Leonardo Buck, a former Maine Amateur champion and devoted volunteer and ambassador for the game in the state of Maine.

Maine Golf introduced a Senior Player of the Year award in 2012 among a burgeoning senior schedule. When Maine Golf merged with the two existing women’s golf associations in 2018, awards were created to honor the state’s top female golfers as well.
