CUMBERLAND — On July 20-22, the Maine Women’s Amateur Championship, sponsored by Clearstead, will be held at Val Halla Golf Course in Cumberland. Last year’s champion, Jade Haylock, will defend her title against a strong field of 62 players and will look to join only a handful of women who have won three Maine Women’s Amateur Championships in a row. Jade won last year at Natanis GC (Tomahawk), and in 2024 at Biddeford-Saco CC.
Livestreaming of the Women’s final round begins at 11 AM as the leaders start making the turn at the ninth hole. At 11:30 AM, live coverage also includes all players finishing at Val Halla’s 18th. Past MWA Champion Erin Holmes (2023), as well as several 2025 top-ten finishers, Abby Flanagan, Danielle Rock, Ruth Colucci, and Maria Ouimet, will be among the players hoping to challenge the defending champ. Ouimet is having a great month of golf so far, having just qualified for the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship to be held at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, New Jersey in late August.
Past and current Senior champions, Thea Davis (2022), Micki Meggison (2023), Ruth Colucci (2024), and Meredith Koerner (2025), also hope to bring their proven skills to challenge the field.
The 54-hole stroke play competition at Val Halla begins on Monday, July 20, with tee times starting at 7:30. After Round 2, the field will be cut to the low 40 players and ties.

- The youngest player in the field is Mia Binette at age 15. The oldest player in the field is Meriby Sweet at age 81.

Championship:
The tournament consists of 60 players competing in 54 holes of individual stroke play. The field will be cut to the low 40 players and ties after 36 holes.
Schedule of Events:
Monday, July 20: 7:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m, all play will begin on hole #1.
Tuesday, July 21: 7:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m, all play will begin on hole #1.
Wednesday, July 22: 7:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m (approx.), all play will begin on hole #1.
In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.
