KENNEBUNK — The first individual championship of the season gets going today at Webhannet GC, where a full field of 132 players will vie for the 2026 Mid-Amateur Championship. This event is open to Maine resident golfers aged 25 and older playing in a 36-hole championship on May 29-30 at Webhannet.
In addition to the championship proper, the Mid-Amateur also serves as a pathway for some players to earn a spot in the 2026 Maine Amateur Championship at Sanford CC in July. The top 5 finishers that aren’t already exempt will play their way into the Amateur later this summer, provided they also finish in the top 25 of the field. The 2026 Mid-Amateur champion will also receive an exemption into the 2027 New England Amateur Championship.
