Maine Amateur Champions

Dating back to 1918, the Maine Open and the Maine Amateur Championship were the two events that put the MSGA on the map. They are the two oldest events on the Maine Golf calendar and have over a century of rich history. The Maine Amateur was a match play event from 1918-1973, and briefly again from 2001-05. The championship was a stroke play event from 1974-2000, and in 2006 reverted back to its current stroke play format. The event is now a 54-hole championship that continues to be the premier amateur golf tournament in the state of Maine.
