This week we will highlight the top male and females by naming the Player of the Year winners from the 2025 Maine Golf season. Our 2025 Women’s Player of the Year is Ruth Colucci of Biddeford-Saco Country Club. The 54-year old Saco resident had a steady year across all events, including a fourth place finish at the Maine Women’s Amateur at Natanis. She was also the winner of three Tuesday Play Days to add to her season-long points total. This is the second time that she has earned Player of the Year honors, having won it in 2018 as the first winner post-merger with Maine Golf.
Maine Golf: How does it feel to be named as the Women’s Player of the Year?
Ruth Colucci: I am excited and honored to be the 2025 Women’s Player of Year. It’s been a goal of mine and I am so proud that my hard work paid off.
MG: What was the highlight of your 2025 tournament season with Maine Golf?
RC: I have a few highlighted moments, but I would say that this year it was at the Women’s Amateur where I placed 4th and played amongst a lot of great players.
MG: Is there anything else you’d like to add about receiving this honor?
RC: I enjoyed every single day on the course with my fellow sisters and brothers. Thank you all for being so wonderful to me!
