On a more local level, Maine Golf is part of the New England Golf Association (NEGA), which administers prestigious amateur championships for men and women that live in New England. The NEGA, established in 1926, is an amateur golf organization comprised of leaders from the six New England golf associations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
