Maine Golf has embarked on a $3M capital campaign to build a new not-for-profit golf learning center in Freeport that aims to break down the barriers to golf for Maine youth and families. Beginning with the driving range that opened in the fall of 2025, the property aims to be the state’s central spot for golf opportunities for players of all ages.
By creating access and serving as the hub for junior golf programming across the state, the new learning center will generate myriad opportunities for kids of all backgrounds to learn and play the game while benefiting from its many life lessons.
We believe that people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities should be able to enjoy and benefit from the great game of golf. That’s why we are building a new Golf Learning Center, based in the vibrant community of Freeport, that aims to provide statewide golf access, education, and instruction, with a focus on growing junior golf and enriching the lives of Maine youth and families.

Marr-Anderson Family Foundation Driving Range NOW OPEN!
The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation Driving Range at the Alexa Re Rancourt Golf Learning Center features 20 hitting bays, each equipped with TopTracer technology, giving both new and experienced golfers the chance to play virtual courses, enjoy interactive games, and gain access to all the swing data you need! Ten of our bays are covered to provide protection from the elements, with plans for future expansion to cover the remaining bays.
Whether you’re a family looking to enjoy the afternoon on the range or you want to dial in your irons, we have it all! Be sure to ask about our discounted rates for seniors, first responders, LL Bean employees, and Youth on Course members.
Alexa Re Rancourt Learning Center
The Alexa Re Rancourt Golf Learning Center will feature a junior-friendly golf clubhouse featuring a full-service pro shop, snack bar, indoor classroom and meeting space, and high-tech indoor simulators for year-round play. The building project is scheduled to begin in 2026.
Youth Programs
Golf is nothing without the next generation of young players, so we work hard to support programs that develop and foster Maine’s future golfers. We offer programming, clinics, and provide opportunities for young golfers to enjoy this great game. The Golf Course
