FREEPORT – Maine Golf is pleased to announce Tim Bailey as the recipient of the 2026 Volunteer of the Year award. Bailey, a resident of Cumberland, volunteers his time at the Alexa Re Rancourt Golf Learning Center, working pro bono at Maine Golf’s Freeport facility a couple of days each week. On any given day, he can be found picking balls on the range, cleaning the building, or working as a general handyman on whatever needs to be done. No matter what the task, Bailey is up for the job.
“Tim is an extremely hard worker who’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves to get any job done,” says AJ Simokaitis, Director of Operations at the Alexa Re Rancourt Golf Learning Center. “He shows up and helps out with whatever we need to get done on any given day.”

Bailey is a jack-of-all-trades, with a varied career that helps him to take on any project. He’s a veteran of the U.S. Marines, worked as a caddy master at the International Golf Club in Bolton, MA, and has worked in construction and as a commercial fisherman.
Donating his time and experience throughout the golf season, Bailey is one of many volunteers who help Maine Golf to provide services to golfers all across the state. These volunteers donate their time at our Learning Center, at our men’s and women’s championship events, and at Course Ratings throughout the state, all to help us achieve our mission and provide the best possible experiences for the golfers of Maine.
Congratulations to Tim Bailey on this award, and thanks to all the volunteers who helped Maine Golf make the 2026 season a special one.
