As we enter the tail end of the golf season here in Maine, October 31 is the last day this year that rounds played in the state can be posted to players’ handicap scoring records. Maine has an active season from April 15 to October 31, where all rounds played during those months must be recorded for handicap purposes according to the Rules of Handicapping.

However, this doesn’t mean you need to put the clubs away for the year! The forecast for the coming week looks incredible, so by all means go out and enjoy a game of golf with friends at the one of the many courses that remain open as we enter November. Just remember that you can’t post your score after the completion of your round.

For Mainers who may head south during the winter months, all scores must be posted per usual if you are playing in a state that is still in their active season. Click here to view the active seasons across the country to find out if your round away from home should be posted.
