This week we will highlight the top male and females by naming the Player of the Year winners from the 2025 Maine Golf season. Our 2025 Men’s Senior Player of the Year is Scott Dewitt of Biddeford-Saco Country Club. The 63-year old Cumberland resident has been a mainstay at the top of leaderboards over the last decade since he became a senior golfer, and this year was no different. This is the second straight season that Dewitt has earned this title, something the southpaw is proud of after playing against so many talented seniors during the year.

Maine Golf: How does it feel to be named as the Senior Player of the Year?
Scott Dewitt: It’s an honor to be named Senior Player of the Year. The season was again filled with many enjoyable rounds with friends, family and fellow competitors.
MG: What was the highlight of your 2025 tournament season?
SD: Competing and making the cut in the Maine Amateur was certainly a highlight, along with playing well in the Maine Open and both the Maine and New England Senior Amateurs.
MG: You barely eked out the Player of the Year title based on points over Ralph Michaud. Were you aware of how close the race was as the season was winding down?
SD: I knew the race was close. With the amount of really good senior players in Maine, it certainly wasn’t a surprise!
MG: Is there anything else you’d like to add about receiving this honor?
SD: Thanks to all who make it happen. Maine Golf staff, officials, and volunteers; especially those involved with the junior golf program.
