Over the next five months, Maine Golf will conduct 17 championship events around the state for men and women of all abilities, crowning talented and deserving state champions at some of the Maine’s best golf courses. The 2022 Maine Golf championship season gets underway this weekend at Belgrade Lakes GC with two men’s events.
On Sunday, May 22 the Club Team Championship will open up the season at the picturesque central Maine golf course. In this always popular event, teams of four players from the same golf club will compete in a best two-of-four event. On every hole each player plays his own ball, with the two best scores from the group counting as the team score for the hole.
On Monday, May 23, Maine Golf will return to Belgrade Lakes for the Senior Club Team Championship. This event mirrors the Club Team in format, but teams consist of all four players from the same club aged 55 and older.
