VASSALBORO — For the first time in event history, the Maine Women’s Amateur Championship will be held at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro next week. Last year’s champion Jade Haylock will defend her title against a strong field of 83 players on the challenging Tomahawk course. Past MWA Champions Erin Holmes (2023) and Jordan Laplume (2019), as well several 2024 top ten finishers Abby Flanagan, Ruth Weeks, Elizabeth Holden, and Carly Iannetta will be among those players hoping to challenge the defending champ.

Past and current Senior champions, Kristin Kannegeiser (2021), Thea Davis (2022), Micki Meggison (2023) and Ruth Colucci (2024) and the 2024 Women’s Match Play Champion, Maria Cianchette, also hope to bring their proven skills to challenge the field.

The 54-hole stroke play competition at Natanis begins on Monday, July 21, with tee times starting at 7:30. After Round 2, the field will be cut to 50% of field and ties.
