BRUNSWICK — The first individual championship of the season gets going this weekend at Brunswick GC, where a full field of 132 players will vie for the 2025 Mid-Amateur Championship. This event is open to Maine resident golfers aged 25 and older playing in a 36-hole championship on May 30-31 at Brunswick, one of the founding member clubs of Maine Golf. This event has seen a rise in popularity in the past decade, and for the first time in tournament history a qualifier was held to determine the field due to the high number of entries.

In addition to the championship proper, the Mid-Amateur also serves as a pathway for some players to earn a spot in the 2025 Maine Amateur Championship at Waterville CC in July. The top 5 finishers that aren’t already exempt will play their way into the Amateur later this summer, provided they also finish in the top 25 of the field.
