ARUNDEL — Following two weeks of exciting events where the Maine men’s and women’s amateur champions were crowned, the 2024 championship season continues with the Senior Four-Ball at Dutch Elm GC. In this 36-hole event, two-man teams will compete in four-ball stroke play, also known as best ball, where the low score of the two players counts for the team score on each hole. Just under 100 players are in the field this week, including many of Maine’s top senior amateur golfers.

Round one got off to a wet start, and play was delayed for two hours at the start of the day, as heavy rains fell across southern Maine. But the tournament is back on schedule, and the field will return to Dutch Elm on July 24 for the conclusion of the championship.
